Dewayne Petty b.k.a. “Pettidee” has laid down 13 new tracks to compile the album Thug Love which debuts on April 4th. The incredibly tight, well produced and hard thumping dirty South beats of Pettidee are sure to grab your attention. And after growing up on the streets of Jacksonville, Pettidee brings a lot of personal insight and wisdom to this album.

The first single, “Glide Aside,” should clear the way for Pettidee in the future. The song communicates his desire to be able to use the gifts that God has given him and for everyone to step out of his way and just let his success happen. “Don’t Stop,” the second single on the album, is a high tempo song sure to have you dancing in your seat…or at least tapping your foot.

But if you aren’t just looking for something to get party started, you’ll find tracks like “Butterflies,” a song about spousal and physical abuse which aims to bring to light some of those subjects that often go ignored because no one is willing to speak up. There’s also “Can’t Make It Without You,” Pettidee’s first song to his wife and thanking her for always being there for him.

This is a well rounded album and if it’s hip-hop with a heart, soul and hot beats that you’re looking for, it doesn’t seem to get much better than this.
