Arabs in the Shadow of Israel
authored by Dr. Tony Maalouf

Dr. Tony Maalouf has written a landmark book even though most individuals, especially Christians, have not heard of it. Every American Christian should read this book. It seems like the majority of American Christians look down on Arabs because of their political support of Israel. I believe that most American Christians have a wrong view of Arabs, and how the Bible portrays their lineage, Ishmael.

Dr. Maalouf begins his book by looking at how the Bible views Ishmael and his descendants, the Arabs. He then shows us through the Bible and history, how we as American Christians have viewed Ishmeal and the Arabs in the wrong light. He also shows us why he believes Job was an Arab, gives a whole chapter to Agur and Lemuel (who wrote Proverbs 30-31) discussing why he believes they were Arabs, and then devotes another two chapters supporting his belief that the Magi were actually Arabs.

I do admit that there is a lot to this book at that it is somewhat academic. But I believe that God has used Dr. Maalouf to show us that God is working among Arabs and that He wants us to look upon them as Dr. Maalouf does instead of looking down upon them as most American Christians do. In fact, there are 20-30 million Arab Christians around the world. In Egypt alone, there are 4-10 million Christians.

I highly recommend this book to every American believer in Christ.
